More summer fun...

We finally took the kids to do something....we took them to Kennecott to see the big hole in the ground.  They loved it.
Trent saw that they had the wood from the original hut they used when they discovered the mine had some potential and told the kids that they could "touch history".  So they all took a turn touching wood from the 1800's.  I don't know that the Kennecott people would have liked it much, but it made a good impression on the kids...

Then we took them to the fun and exciting shoe store to buy Trent some new running shoes.  He's at least 5-6 months past time to get them.  It took a lot of convincing to get him into the store, he just doesn't like to spend money on himself, but when he tried some on he finally knew how bad his old shoes really were.

Maddie liked these pinkish/purple ones...she tried to convince him with a big girlie smile....

But he ended up going with some boring old blue and white ones (who wouldn't like the pink ones???)  Look how happy he is with his new shoe on - his feet felt happy too - and so was Donsters because we were finally done.;)

Then when we got home Donsters decided he wanted to play like the big trucks he saw - in the street of course!  He even decided his truck was broken and needed to fix it - with a rock (typical guy....if it doesn't work right beat it a few times ;)

  2. Haha! Mike is the same way when it comes to spending money on himself. I always feel sooo good when we buy stuff for him, because HE DESERVES IT! Looks like you are really enjoying your Summer :)

  3. You are so brave to take the kids with you shoe shopping. Shoe stores and children do not go well together in the Sanders family.
