Ahhh - a new year!!

I am SO thrilled this year to be able to learn about the New Testament in Gospel Doctrine this year.  It is by far my FAVORITE book to learn about.  I taught this class one year and learned SO much about our Savior and his life and teachings.  It's been a few years ago so it will be fantastic to go through my old books and re-learn the things that I have forgotten.  Sad how fast things seem to slip from my memory.
As a family we have put together a list of 'resolutions' or goals that we are going to be working on throughout the year.  We are making mason jars with our goals pasted onto the outside, and each Sunday we will review the week and if we each made our goals for the week we will be able to put $2 into our jars.  At the end of the year if we were able to make it each of us will have just over $100 in our jars to do with whatever we want (after tithing of course).  I was just thrilled to read my boy's goals.  They had 3 categories and 3-4 goals to place in each - spiritual, personal, and family.  They both want to do more scripture study, more praying, more bearing of their testimonies.  Less fighting, more family time.  Wow.  I guess with their lists plus my own I have a lot to accomplish this coming year.  I'm excited for the changes that we can hopefully make!  We have been doing great at getting up early to read from the BOM, and one of my goals is to re-read Jesus The Christ and am already in the 6th chapter.  I need to do all that I can this year to keep the spirit strong in our home and with me as I approach this coming year. - And with the gift Trent gave me for Christmas I'm abe to take both the BOM and Jesus The Christ with me anywhere - he bought me a new I-pod touch.  LOVE IT!!  I am able to read any time I have a few minutes - I totally recommend it!!

  1. Cute. Your kids are so good. We should try to get together for a dinner date sometime. We have Jared's little brother living with us for a few weeks, so it would be great to have someone from Jared's family meet someone from ours. And, if you know any young single mormon women he could date, that'd be great too!

  2. Your family is such an inspiration to me. I LOVED when you were the Gospel Doctrine Teacher. I honestly think you were the best one I've had, and I've loved them all. Good luck with your goals! Thank those kids for being such wonderful examples!
