Look not behind thee....

http://lds.org/pages/look-not-behind-thee?lang=eng
I just watched this message on the Mormon channel on u-tube.  Gotta say that it seemed to speak directly to me - I've been thinking a lot about past mistakes that I've made...not just the silly little things, but some of the hefty ones.  I've been feeling as though I am not worthy to do some of the things that I've been asked to do...but this past Sunday and today I have been given some messages of hope.  On Sunday we sang the song: 'Count Your Blessings'.  I've sung that song tons of times, but this time the words of the 2nd verse really jumped out at me and yelled "this is for you dummy"!!  It goes:  "Are you ever burdened with a load of care?  Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?  Count your many blessings EVERY DOUBT WILL FLY, and you will be singing as the days go by."  With the things that are coming up soon I have been feeling burdened and concerned that I might not measure up.  I am so grateful for the Lord's tender mercies in letting me know how He feels on the matter.  I also came across D&C 123:17:  "Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us CHEERFULLY do ALL THINGS that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost ASSURANCE, to see the salvation of God and for his arm to be revealed."  Okay - so don't look back, be cheerful in doing my best, and God will make up for the rest.  I think I can do that....

  1. LeAdelle, I haven't watched the video, but was so touched and "inspired" by you last two posts. I didn't know I could admire you more than I already did! What a great analogy about turning our nice and/or grumpy attitudes ON and OFF! I am so sharing that with my family. I learn so much from you, my friend. Don't be hard on yourself, as my Michael likes to say (quoting Joseph Smith) "a bow that is always strung, loses its' spring". I think we are okay to have our moments (which is WEIRD coming from me, because I always beat myself up, haha!) I love you, girl!! Good luck with your new "loads", I mean adventures! *wink*
