I am so very proud of my big man in his decision to receive the priesthood this weekend. He wore his new suit and looked very grown up when the bishop called him up onto the stand to be sustained. I was able to be there when the bishopric took him out of primary for the last time and marched him down to the deacon's class. Then after church most of Trent's family was there to be witnesses to his ordination. Trent gave him a beautiful blessing - the spirit was so strong it moved me to tears. I sure am blessed to now have 2 priesthood holders in my home!! He has also completed his Faith in God requirements and should be receiving the medallion next Sunday. I can't believe he is already 12 and in Jr. High. He is already looking forward to his mission. Sunday was also a farewell for one of the young men in our ward. He did a fantastic job and will make a great missionary. I am so glad that Piercen has good role-models to look up to and emulate in our ward.
Wow, twelve already? I loved having Piercen in cub scouts. It made me happy to read this and think about the kind of missionary he will be. He is such a good guy, a leader, and a role model for other boys around him. I see a bright future for that one!
ReplyDeleteyou are the cutest friend ever! It always makes me smile to get comments from you! I love pierce to death! he is such a stud. I'm so happy that he is a deacon now and gets to be in young mens. He's like the strongest spiritual kid I know for being 12 years old. He has an amazing spirit with him. Remember all those boys he was with in our ward?!?! They are all deacons too. Even matthew morris. whoa they are getting too big. Your boys are going to be surrounded by girls...they are seriously so good looking too!! I love reading what you have been up to! :)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, you look so elegant with your new hair-do!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Piercen and your entire family! I can't wait until you post about Trent taking him to the Temple! We had a little goal with Dima, when he turned 12 to attend as many Temples as possible - it was so fun! I know you will remember that special weekend forever. Ours happened two years ago, in the most difficult circumstances, but I remember every second of it! Again, I am very happy for you, my friend!!
Thanks Natalia - I'm still not so sure on the cut so I'm glad you like it. I'll let you know how the temple goes for sure! I forgot this weekend was a holiday and we have to get together with Trent's family so it may be the following weekend. I'm super excited to take him.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE the idea you had with Dima - and think that I just may copy you!
